Huawei unveils top holiday deals on phones, tablets and wearables at many third-party sellers

With the hot new Mate 9 powerhouse phablet not quite ready for US primetime yet, Huawei gadget enthusiasts are left scrambling for the best Black Friday and Cyber Monday savings on older and/or humbler products like the Honor 8 phone, Fit smartband, Watch, MediaPad M3 tablet and MateBook 2-in-1 laptop.

While the Chinese device manufacturer doesn’t appear to have any plans for looming holiday deals offered directly through its American e-store, we’re happy to bring you a neat collection of third-party retail promos with various start and end dates today.

Already, the recently unveiled Huawei Fit is available on Amazon, Best Buy and Newegg for $99.99, down 30 bucks from its regular $130 price point. The convertible Windows 10-based MateBook tablet is $200 off list over at Microsoft until December 2 with a Portfolio Keyboard bundled in, or $300 off when bought alongside a MatePen and MateDock in addition to the aforementioned keyboard.

Then you have pretty routine discounts of up to $200 on “select” Huawei Watch styles at Amazon, Best Buy, Newegg, Google, Target, and B&H also valid through December 2. Between November 25 and 28 only, the just-launched MediaPad M3 Android slate goes $50 off on Amazon to $249, and last but certainly not least, the already affordable Honor 8 flagship phone will set you back $300 instead of $400 with 32GB storage, or $350 in a 64 gig config at Best Buy, Amazon, Newegg, and B&H.

Huawei was reportedly Google’s plan A for the unsung Pixel and Pixel XL manufacturer

The world’s third most popular smartphone vendor is obviously pretty big in China, from where it hails, as well as a few other Asian markets, and even Western Europe. But despite great ambitions and substantial recent efforts of gaining a US foothold, Huawei still has a long way to go.At least that’s what credible inside sources claim, describing among others the MateBook as an “absolute flop” in the land of the free, local Honor 5X sales as just ...

Huawei MateBook Review: This 2-in-1 means business

I know what you’re thinking, “Huawei made a Windows 10 tablet PC?” It’s true, the brand isn’t well known for making Windows PCs, but apparently the burgeoning 2-in-1 tablet PC market is too attractive to avoid grabbing for a piece of that pie. The Android and iOS tablet market has gone into decline and there really isn’t much of an opportunity for growth in those segments anymore. However, the tablet PC 2-in-1 market… especially those devices running the full Windows desktop operating system has seen a 73% year over year increase. That’s the ...

Huawei MateBook vs Samsung Galaxy TabPro S

Huawei’s press conference launching their new MateBook 2-in-1 tablet PC sounded a lot like the press conference where Samsung launched their 2-in-1 Galaxy Tab Pro S tablet PC, so we think these two non-Microsoft-made Windows 10 tablets deserve a little comparison. Both are very close to the same size, both are very thin at less than 7mm, and both are very light. Both use Intel Core m processors with HD 515 GPU chips. Both have only a USB-C port and 3.5 mm headset jack for peripherals… except for a proprietary keyboard connector on the bottom edge for the detachable ...

Stylus-wielding Huawei Matebook apparently confirmed for MWC launch

2-in-1 Huawei and Xiaomi devices expected out this spring

2015 wasn’t the year of the great PC comeback, as iPhones managed to eclipse the popularity of traditional Windows computers by themselves, but something must be telling two of the most successful handheld manufacturers in the world there’s still money to be earned in devices sized over 10 inches.Beside the looming Huawei MateBook (weird name, we know), a sub-13-inch hybrid of sorts could be coming soon from Xiaomi, which is ...

The Huawei MateBook may be a thing come later this year

So much for a collapse. The PC market may be on the slopes, but with Microsoft making its own (convertible) laptop and Apple totally owning it with its MacBooks, Huawei seems to be puffing up its chest for a major Mate move. That’s if the ever-grinding Chinese rumor mill gets its facts right.Swimming around in the muck is news that ...
