Super-low-cost Xiaomi Redmi 4 officially slated for November 4 announcement

Xiaomi seems to have a big box-office winner on its hands in the high-end Mi Note 2, at least domestically, and however many (or few) “conceptual” Mi MIX units will hit e-store shelves later this month, they’ll no doubt sell out in a matter of seconds as well.

Still, the affordable, vast and non-experimental Redmi family of mid-range Android soldiers probably remains the ambitious OEM’s number one revenue generator, both in China and foreign markets like India, Malaysia or Singapore.

Released back at the very beginning of the year, the $100 or so Xiaomi Redmi 3 yielded several budget-focused spin-offs before finally prompting a full-on sequel. Let’s get ready to welcome the Xiaomi Redmi 4 on Chinese shores this coming Friday, November 4, metallic build, 5-inch Full HD display, octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor, fingerprint sensor and all.

Yes, believe it or not, this Tenaa-approved non-flagship device will apparently bump screen resolution up to 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, RAM and internal storage from 2 and 16GB to 3 and 32 respectively, retaining the massive 4,000 mAh or so battery of its predecessor while reportedly costing just 700 Yuan, or $104.

Impossible? We’ll obviously find out in under 48 hours, but with the edgeless Mi MIX’s introduction, Xiaomi has proven it knows not the meaning of that word.
