LG G Pad III 10.1 tablet goes official with built-in kickstand, stylus version also coming soon

Well, that was quick. The mediocre-sounding, lackluster-looking LG G Pad III 10.1 was literally just (ev) leaked the other day, and now, it’s already out and about… at least in the manufacturer’s homeland of South Korea.

Recent history tells us the mid-range 10.1-inch Android slate may well go wide soon, possibly even expanding to one or two US carriers at relatively low prices, with frequent discounts and bundle deals in store.

Anything special about the convolutedly named G Pad III 10.1 FHD LTE? Actually, there is an adjustable kickstand baked in by default that previous members of the family didn’t “think” to include. Early next year, the series will apparently be further expanded, starting with a stylus pen-wielding model.

For the time being, let’s focus on this respectably versatile, albeit non-keyboard-sporting $365 (KRW 429,000) variant, weighing in at a robust 510 grams, but nicely measuring 6.7mm at its thinnest point while packing an adequate 6,000mAh battery.

Adequate is probably the best way to describe the rest of the specs too, from an undetailed octa-core 1.5GHz processor to Full HD (1,920 x 1,200 pixels) screen resolution, 2GB RAM, 5MP rear and front cameras, expandable 32GB storage, USB Type-C connectivity, as well as Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

The LG G Pad III 10.1 is also LTE-enabled, Microsoft Office-loaded, and fine-tuned for both avid readers and multimedia junkies.

LG Pad III 10.1 leaked, looks like half a laptop

LG’s Android tablets haven’t been the most spectacular things. If anything, they’re just hunks of LTE capability that get sold with a service package alongside a phone at a local carrier.

But somewhere around halfway interesting, you’ll find this one of many @evleaks from Evan Blass. He purports to be showing off the LG G Pad III 10.1, what looks to be a 10.1-inch Android tablet with a design that seems to be inspired from convertible tablets.

The corner treatment of the LG logo out on front is imprinted on some heavily grained material while a more matte-looking material behind the screen is carved up to feature a hatch of some sort. Is it a kickstand? Does it hold a stylus? Does it matter at this point?

The tablet bear little resemblance to its G Pad II predecessor and has even less of one when compared to the G Pad III 8.0.

We have no other information about this tablet other than this is just a photo leak from a fairly reliable source.
