LG G Pad IV 8.0 FHD LTE goes official in Korea with focus on affordability and incredible portability

It has a crazy convoluted name, compact body, wasp waist and average-sounding features. Meet the Korea-exclusive (for now) LG G Pad IV 8.0 FHD LTE.

LG G Pad III 10.1 tablet goes official with built-in kickstand, stylus version also coming soon

Well, that was quick. The mediocre-sounding, lackluster-looking LG G Pad III 10.1 was literally just (ev) leaked the other day, and now, it’s already out and about… at least in the manufacturer’s homeland of South Korea.

Recent history tells us the mid-range 10.1-inch Android slate may well go wide soon, possibly even expanding to one or two US carriers at relatively low prices, with frequent discounts and bundle deals in store.

Anything special about the convolutedly named G Pad III 10.1 FHD LTE? Actually, there is an adjustable kickstand baked in by default that previous members of the family didn’t “think” to include. Early next year, the series will apparently be further expanded, starting with a stylus pen-wielding model.

For the time being, let’s focus on this respectably versatile, albeit non-keyboard-sporting $365 (KRW 429,000) variant, weighing in at a robust 510 grams, but nicely measuring 6.7mm at its thinnest point while packing an adequate 6,000mAh battery.

Adequate is probably the best way to describe the rest of the specs too, from an undetailed octa-core 1.5GHz processor to Full HD (1,920 x 1,200 pixels) screen resolution, 2GB RAM, 5MP rear and front cameras, expandable 32GB storage, USB Type-C connectivity, as well as Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

The LG G Pad III 10.1 is also LTE-enabled, Microsoft Office-loaded, and fine-tuned for both avid readers and multimedia junkies.

AT&T beefs up low-cost device portfolio with LG K10 and LG G Pad X 8.0

In the market for a reasonably priced, reasonably sized Android smartphone and tablet with 4G LTE support on one of America’s largest wireless networks? Starting Friday, July 22, the mid-end LG K10 and G Pad X 8.0 will be up for grabs from AT&T at $180 and $50 respectively.Of course, a modest grand total of 230 bucks can’t possibly score you a pair of Marshmallow-powered devices with 5.3 and 8-inch IPS LCD screens free of contractual obligations or other strings attached. Instead, the pad’s $50 tag is good for 24-month pacts, which are apparently still a thing at Ma Bell.On the ...

LG G Pad X 8.0 debuts on T-Mobile with FHD screen, Marshmallow, $240 price

While the LG G Pad F 8.0 and Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 are currently the protagonists of a couple of fairly enticing bundle deals at T-Mobile, going for 50 percent off their list prices when bought alongside select LG and Samsung phones, the “Uncarrier” badly needed a new affordable sub-10-incher.Enter the LG G Pad X 8.0, rumored a couple of months back to go official in May and unveiled the other day in Korea and Canada under the G Pad III ...

LG G Pad III 8.0 goes official in Korea and Canada with middling specs, fitting price

While they say conventional tablets, without the ability to seamlessly morph into something else, are pretty much dead, a handful of hopeful companies continue to see a future for jumbo-sized cost-conscious Androids, particularly 7 and 8-inchers.A future very similar to the present, unfortunately, at least as far as LG is concerned, with the “new” G Pad III 8.0 greatly resembling last year’s Korea-launched G Pad II 8.3 and ...

LG G Pad X8.3 receives unexpected Marshmallow update on Verizon

While the newest iteration of Google’s uber-popular mobile OS managed to climb from 0.5 to 7.5 percent share in platform distribution numbers between December of last year and this month, the fact that Marshmallow hasn’t even broken double-digit ground yet is certainly disappointing. Most semi-recent flagship phones built by tier 1 OEMs have of course been upgraded to Android 6.0 in the past couple of months or are brought to date as we speak, but the sluggish pace badly impacted adoption stats. Then you got mid-range ...

Specs for the new LG G Pads announced

When LG announced three new G Pad tablets back in May, it remained mum on specs, peculiarly enough. Today it is finally unveiling the tablets fully, and it’s immediately apparent that this lineup is not going to be competing with other high-end tablet offerings anytime soon. The G Pad 7.0 comes with a 7-inch 1280×800 display, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 8GB of internal storage (with microSD expansion capabilities), rear-firing 3MP camera, 4000 mAh battery, and ...

The company will be unveiling its new tablets at MedPI 2014, taking place in Europe over the course of the next few days.
