New Pixel Live Cases, OtterBox Defender are in the Google Store

Maybe you’re not so hot about the Pixel’s design after all? It’s okay, we know a few types who like to saran-wrap their Jet Black iPhone 7.

Fortunately, you have plenty of ways to cover things up. Just as Google has provided some interesting Live Cases for the Nexus phones, it has done the same for the Pixel and Pixel XL. Sure, there are the $40 Live Cases for Places, Photos and a few special artist selections, especially from designer Jeremy Scott.

But some new $49.99 cases are coming onto the scene. As with all other Live Cases, the rather simple looking Google Trends case comes with a live wallpaper that shows off the latest top trending searches. The Google Earth Live Case is printed with your choice of Google Earth view and you’ll have the option of pressing the shortcut button to head to that spot on Google Maps.

Both cases are on the Google Store and Verizon’s site, listed as “Coming Soon.”

In the meantime, you do have the option of taking the durable route with the OtterBox Defender Series cases for both the Pixel ($49.95) and the Pixel XL ($59.95). There’s an inner screen layer, a hard shell and an inner foam lining, all of which should take falls and spills quite nicely.

In a marketplace where custom-printed cases (or skins) for pretty much any mainstream smartphone are quite accessible, Google has only just seemed to catch on that it would be a great idea to make this happen as well. Maybe certain circumstances prevented the revenues behemoth from doing this, but hey, at least now you can make your very own Live Case. Yep, those unique little things that
