Here’s everything Samsung is launching today in all its glory – before Samsung can launch it

Today’s Galaxy Unpacked is going to be a busy one, as Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Note 20 Duo, the Galaxy Tab S7 pair, the Galaxy Watch 3 smartwatch, the Galaxy Buds Live earbuds, and the Galaxy Z Fold 2. We’ve already seen them in leaks and also know almost all of their specifications, but apparently, that was not enough.

Leak maestro Evan Blass (aka @evleaks) has dumped a treasure trove hi-res renders, product images and marketing videos of all the aforementioned devices, parading them from all angles. We get to see the Galaxy Note 20 and its Ultra sibling in all color options, showcasing some of their capabilities via promotional videos.

We also get our best possible look at the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and all the new design elements it brings to the table such as a larger cover display, a hole-punch screen on the inside and four custom hinge colors. We also get a look at the wireless power share feature of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra in action, and finally, how the bean-shaped Galaxy Buds Live earbuds actually look in the ears.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 leaked hands-on video shows its rotating bezel in action

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 will debut at the Galaxy Unpacked event on August 5, but we’ve already seen the device in flesh via leaked renders. Now, the upcoming Samsung smartwatch has appeared in a hands-on video (courtesy of TechTalkTV), which shows both variants of the device and some of the features as well.

The bezels on the Galaxy Watch 3 are considerably slimmer than the first-gen smartwatch launched a few years ago and the UI also seems more polished. The display is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass DX.

The device comes with an IP68-rated build and 5ATM water resistance as well. Talking about sensors, the Galaxy Watch 3 will come equipped with a blood pressure monitoring sensor, heart rate sensor, as well as an ECG sensor. As for the hardware, the upcoming smartwatch will pack 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage, while Tizen OS will reportedly handle things on the software side.

Deals. Let’s start off today with the latest 16-inch MacBook Pro which is $300 off on Amazon, leaving the 2.3GHz Intel Core i9, 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage variant for $2500. The Apple Watch Series 3 is $30 off, leaving the GPS only 38mm variant for $169 shipped. The Hisense H8 Quantum Series 4K TV is $50 off which leaves it at $350 shipped and, that’s actually a steal. I actually have one set for review as soon as I get back to NY. Finally the Razer Viper Ultralight Wired mouse which my son loves more than me is $30 off, leaving it at $50 shipped. We have more deals in the links in the description. And yeah, sad truth.

We could get up to 100W fast charging with the Snapdragon 875

Some new leaks for the Snapdragon 875 have just emerged, showing an interesting new feature. According to the tipster, the 875 will be capable of 100W fast charging. This will be advertised as a feature for gaming phones, allowing for a shorter down-time between gaming sessions. We’re expecting this SoC to be produced on a 5nm architecture and rocking the new Cortex X1 as its prime core and three Cortex A77 cores. On the meantime we’re expecting Qualcomm to launch an 865+ this July which we’ll talk about in a minute.

New Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 renders reveal its color variants

Samsung Galaxy Fold Lite launch reportedly delayed, could debut next year for $830

We’ve been covering a lot of leaks when it comes to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3. From certifications, to specs to renders. Well, now we have some more renders from Evan Blass as well but, these look more like the official renders Samsung would use to show off the different color variants. According to Evan and the renders, we’ll be getting Black and Bronze variants while the Bronze kinda looks like a Rose Gold tone. There’s also been some rumors of a Galaxy Fold Lite which we were apparently going to get at Unpacked but, a new leak claims that it was postponed. According to a South Korean publication, the Fold Lite has been delayed until 2021 and it will reportedly cost around $830. It’s said to arrive with different components as the Fold and the outer display will reportedly be smaller than the Z Flip’s, if that’s even possible. It’ll only support LTE, bring 256GB of storage and Mirror Black and Purple variants.

OnePlus Buds in Black with a closed-fit design leaked

Along with the leaks for the OnePlus Nord, we’ve been getting leaks of some OnePlus TWS earbuds for the longest time. Most of them came in sketches and now we have a new one from the same source. The design hasn’t really changed much, they still kinda look like AirPods on the Pixel Buds case but these ones seem to have buttons on the side. This sketch emphasizes on a Black color variant with red accents which we hadn’t exactly seen before. We’re supposed to be getting these along with the OnePlus Nord and they should have Touch Controls, the Google Assistant and fast-pairing with OnePlus devices.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 has fixed Galaxy S20 focusing issues

We have some new tweets from Ice Universe about what we should expect at Unpacked and now it’s getting way better. On the first tweet he mentions again that Samsung has completely fixed the S20 Ultra’s focusing problem but he also mentions that the QHD+ display at 120Hz is still not optimistic. Then on a more interesting tweet he claims that Samsung have eaten up the Snapdragon 865+ processors. He claims that the whole Note 20 Series, the Galaxy Fold 2, the Z Flip 5G and even the Tab S7 will be using the Snapdragon 865+ processors. If you remember last year, the 855+ was announced on July 15th so, we’ll keep you posted.

Story of the day:

Kuo reiterates Apple’s plans of a new 10.8-inch iPad in 2020, iPad Mini in 2021

[UPDATE] Apple to not include in-box charger and EarPods with iPhone 12 series?

Ming Chi Kuo is back and, we don’t really like what he has to say this time. Let’s start off with iPads, back in May Kuo said that Apple would be releasing two new iPads. Now, on his latest report he mentions them once again, a new 10.8-inch iPad for the second half of 2020 followed by an 8.5in iPad Mini in the first half of 2021. We don’t know if the 10.8in iPad will be a successor to the 10.2-inch iPad or the 10.5-inch but, both this one and the iPad Mini should bring that 20W charger we covered last week in the box. Speaking of that charger, Kuo claims that it might not make it to the iPhone 12’s box after all. The report says that Apple will remove the EarPods and the power adapter from the box, leaving only the USB-C to Lightning Cable. This means that you’ll either have to pony up $30 for the 18W or 20W or $20 for the 5. We’ve also been seeing some leaks of AirPower fully working so if that’s coming that might be the reason for this decision.

Just like the previous renders, these also come from popular tipster Evan Blass. They suggest that the Galaxy Watch 3 will be arriving in black and bronze color options. As per previous reports, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 will come equipped with stainless steel or titanium chassis. The display will be protected by Gorillas Glass DX. Moreover, it will sport a rotatable bezel. The smartwatch is also tipped to come with MIL-STD-810G durability and 5ATM water resistance.

Here’s your first look at the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 with the screen powered on

Last week, we got our first look at Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch 3, which brings back the rotating bezel and is heavily rumored to launch next month. Now, more real-life images of the Galaxy Watch Active 3 have surfaced online, and for the first time, we see it with the screen turned on and some of its UI elements.

In the leaked images, which come courtesy of Twitter user TechTalkTV (@Mr_TechTalkTV), we can see the main app launcher and a few pages in the setting menu. The layout is quite familiar, with the apps lined alongside the periphery in a circle. There is not much to extract here in terms of software or features, but the Galaxy Watch 3 is rumored to boot Tizen OS 5.5.

However, we do know a lot about its specifications. There will be 41mm (1.2-inch display) and 45mm (1.4-inch display) variants, with a choice between stainless steel and titanium case options. It will also rock an IP68 certified and a MIL-STD-810G compliant build, and an Electrocardiogram (ECG) sensor is on board as well. You can read more about the massive Galaxy Watch 3 leak here.

LG Velvet arrives in Europe this month, US availability to follow soon

It’s been a while since we’ve talked about my favorite phone, the LG Velvet. Wait what? Well if you remember, the phone was originally just launched in Korea but now it’s finally expanding. LG just announced in a press release that the Velvet will be making it’s way to European markets like Germany, Italy, Spain, Hungary and Poland starting this month. And for those of you on the other side of the pond, it’ll be available in North America, Latin America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East in the weeks that follow. We’ll keep you posted once it comes out because I can’t wait to review it.

Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 690 SoC brings 5G to affordable smartphones

Qualcomm just announced a new SoC as part of their 6 Series. The new Snapdragon 690 basically brings 5G to affordable smartphones. It’s aimed at the $300-$500 segment and brings support for features like 120Hz displays, HDR10 and HDR10+ playback. It also offers 4K capture, it brings a new image signal processors which allows phones to capture shots of up to 192MP and slo-mo video will be capped at 240fps at 720p. Brands like LG, HMD, Motorola and TCL have announced that they’ll be using the new 690, you can check out the specifics in the links in the description.

Here’s the first real-life image of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch 3

The Galaxy Watch 3 is probably one of Samsung’s most leaked products. Yesterday we got a full blown list of specs and now we get images of the watch and well, let’s just say it look familiar. Not that I have anything to complain about with the original design of the Galaxy Watch, but let’s just say this is a very similar twin.. These images come from a South Korean NRAA listing and they show the certification information which includes the model number, certification date and of course, both of the watch variants. These are expected to come in 41 and 45mm variants, bring 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage and bring an IP68 certification. According to the leaks we should get these earlier, some time during July along with the leaked Galaxy Buds Live.

Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 rumors give us two batteries under the hood

We may have to wait a bit longer to get the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2

Speaking of Samsung, we have some new leaks about the upcoming Galaxy Fold. First off, we know we’re getting an upgrade in looks, but today we get more information on specs. According to a new leak from Twitter, the Fold 2 will bring 2 batteries. This dual battery system will consist of a 2090 mAh and 2275 mAh batteries which add up to 4365 mAh which is less then what we got with the original Fold but according to the tipster, we should expect better battery life thanks to a more power efficient chipset. On another report, it looks like this phone might be very limited once it comes out. According to them, the Fold 2’s software hasn’t reached the first version of its bootloader yet, which means it’s far from being finalized. Another source also claims that there will barely be any production in July and it will most likely start in August, meaning that it will hit stores in late August or September, and it will be very limited. This may be because of supply constraints for the UTG but we’re still expecting the Fold to launch at Unpacked and with a cheaper price tag.

Story of the day:

We may get 120Hz refresh rates in the iPhone 12 Pro

And finally the hottest news today have to do once again with the iPhone 12, and more of what we’re gonna get in the package, and how much it’ll cost you. Yeah you might not like that. Starting off with spec updates DSSC’s Ross Young just tweeted out a new picture with a list of 2020 phones that will bring 120Hz displays. On the list we can see some phones that are already out, like the OnePlus 8 Pro, OPPO Find X2, ASUS ROG Phone 2 but, we also see upcoming phones like the Mate 40 and the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max. Now, if you go by this list it may seem like the regular iPhones will bring a 60Hz display which is still a possibility but other sources have said that we may be getting 90Hz displays. On another note, supply chain sources say that we may be getting thinner iPhones this year but, that won’t sacrifice battery life as Apple is planning to use their multi-layer stacked mother board which gives more space for the batteries. Then we have another image popping up on Reddit which claims the regular 12s will bring a 60Hz display and the BOE name has been scratched from the display listing for those of you that were worried. It also brings a list of other specs which we’ve covered already, along with the notch that’s 33% smaller.. Now the part where things get tricky is when we talk price. Seems that the regular iPhone 12 might start at $700 instead of $649, while the 12 Max will start at $800. So yeah, it seems the iPhone 11 successor, which is that 12 max is getting more expensive. Here’s the first real-life image of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch 3

You’ve seen the schematics, and have also come across the detailed specifications too. Now, it’s time for an early look. I’m talking about Samsung’s upcoming smartwatch – the Galaxy Watch 3 – here, and this is probably the first clear look at its design, straight from a certification authority’s database in South Korea.

The images were spotted (via MySmartPrice) on the website of National Radio Research Agency (NRAA) and show the design of two Galaxy Watch 3 models viz. SM-R840 and SM-R850. The design is almost identical, and a physical rotating bezel is clearly visible. The bezel has a dark grey finish with a grooved outline on the periphery (only on the SM-R840 model), complete with two buttons on the right side.

Compared to the first-gen Galaxy Watch, the bezel is much thinner on the upcoming Samsung smartwatch and it doesn’t have any markings either. As for the specs, the Galaxy Watch 3 will come in two sizes – 41mm and 45mm – with a 1.2-inch and 1.4-inch display respectively.
