Apple inadvertently reveals the shipment date for its new iPad Pro and M1 iMac

Earlier today, Apple went live with a newsroom post that serves to remind interested folks that its latest hardware, which includes the new M1-powered iMac and iPad Pro, as well as the updated Apple TV 4K will be up for pre-orders starting tomorrow. You can head over to apple.com or the Apple Store app for placing your order, which the company says will arrive at your doorstep in the second half of May. However, Apple may also have inadvertently revealed when the aforementioned devices start shipping and general availability commences.

First spotted by Jason Aten, and later confirmed by the folks over at Macrumors, metadata on these newsroom posts on Apple’s UK and Australia mentioned a shipment date of May 21. “The all-new ‌iMac‌, ‌iPad Pro‌, ‌Apple TV‌ 4K, purple iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini, and AirTag arrive in stores and on doorsteps around the world May 21,” it said. Apple has since scrubbed the mention of May 21 from the metadata and it now gives a vague ‘first half of May’ release timeline.

In case you’re interested in the new M1 iMac, iPad Pro or the Apple TV 4K refresh, listed below are the offers that Apple has on the table:

*When buying iPad with Wi-Fi + Cellular, customers can get up to $200 back when activated with a carrier including AT&T, T-Mobile/Sprint, and Verizon.
*iPhone customers can earn up to $700 in savings with the latest carrier deals from AT&T, T-Mobile/Sprint, and Verizon.
*Through Apple Trade In, customers can trade in their current eligible devices for an Apple Gift Card or credit toward their purchase of a new iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch.

As for the iPhone 12 and 12 Mini in their fresh purple avatar, and the AirTags, they will be widely available starting tomorrow after going on pre-order last week. Stay tuned to the Pocketnow website and YouTube for a detailed review and useful guides covering Apple’s new gadgets coming soon!

I have no interest in the new iPad Pro, iMac, or AirTags

Earlier this week, Apple announced a bunch of new stuff on a video live stream. We’ve got new commercials for Apple TV shows, a purple iPhone, Podcast stuff, an Apple TV remote that actually makes sense, some AirTags, new iMacs, and a new iPad Pro.

AirTags

The first really new Apple product for 2021 was the AirTags, and I immediately said, “Welcome to 2013!”  AirTags are little battery-powered Bluetooth things that connect to your iPhone and help the iPhone’s “Find My” software keep track of the locations of the tags. Sounds familiar because these kinds of things have been around for many years. A company called Tile was one of the first to release this type of gadget back in 2013.

Nokia released a similar Nokia Treasure Tag in early 2014 that had similar functionality. I had a bunch of Nokia Treasure Tags attached to my Nokia Lumia 1020 and they certainly worked as advertised… just the same as today’s Apple AirTags. I stopped using them after getting a new phone because they were kind of a hassle. I mean, how many batteries do I have to keep around and keep replacing? Sure, the removable battery can be replaced pretty quickly, but still, it’s another thing to manage, and I never lost anything while I was using the Treasure Tags anyway. So what’s the point? It costs more cognitive energy paying attention to the battery levels of all of these tags than it costs to remember where whatever it’s attached to is in the first place.

iMac

The new iMacs are bringing back a rainbow of color options like the original iMac had in 1998. It has Apple’s new M1 processor, an extra thin form factor, and it comes in 7 colors. That’s cool and all, but the front has a big pastel-colored chin and a white bezel that looks really bad to me. What’s more, is that the white bezel is going to interfere with your white balance perception since that will reflect the color temperature of your ambient lighting instead of the color temperature of the display.  Looks like the display is still pretty reflective too, so glare will still be a problem. That’s not so good for creative professionals.

Having the computer really thin is nice I guess, but how much does that really matter?  The stand is still pretty thick, so it’s not going to save a whole lot of desk space. Maybe it makes the iMac easier to move, but if I’m going to put a computer on a desk, that’s probably where it’s going to stay until I replace it. That being said, I have seen iMacs that need replacing kind of frequently, so maybe that is a good thing since we’ve had to carry them to the car and then to the Apple store for repair kind of often. That’s in contrast to the HP workstation where a repair person just comes to the office and replaces parts right there under warranty the next morning.

iPad Pro

Apple’s new Center Stage feature for video calls on the iPad Pro is probably the most impressive feature, but again… “Welcome to 2010, Apple!” This awesome feature was something that first appeared 11 years ago in Video Kinect for Xbox. Honestly, it makes way more sense having this feature plugged into a big screen TV than it does an iPad. You’ll need to set the iPad on a stand to make any use of it, and as you move away the people on the screen will look so much smaller. With Xbox Kinect and a big TV, I could walk around the whole room and the video call camera would follow me beautifully.  It was even cooler when the person on the other end had the same thing in their living room… we could both walk around doing other stuff and it was like there was a camera crew focusing on our faces on the TV.

The iPad Pro does have a new mini-LED display now that’s supposed to display color better, but it’s still a glossy screen that’s going to have a lot of glare when using it in real life. Apple’s video looks to be extremely processed to remove or hide the glare of the environment completely. It looks super fake because it is. That’s not how the screen is going to look in real life.

I’ve never thought that the iPad Pro deserved the “Pro” moniker. It’s not great for creative pro stuff anyway. See “13 Reasons why I don’t use an iPad Pro & Apple Pencil for graphic design“. The M1 processor and 16GB of RAM options in the new iPad Pro seem like kind of a waste since it won’t run really high-end programs like those available on macOS.

Previous generation iMacs are getting huge savings right now

The latest iMacs and iPad Pro models are still not available for purchase. Still, you can also choose to go for one of the previous variants of these amazing devices, as they are starting to get serious discounts. What I REALLY think about Apple’s Spring Loaded Event

OK, so, we started scripting this video as your typical Pocketnow Daily, where I go through a recap of all things Apple, but then I realized I had just too much to say to only report the news. The event ended, and then I was hoping for a “One More Thing,” and it didn’t happen.

Don’t get me wrong, a lot of what was announced was great, then some was expected, and then some was underutilized potential, and some just didn’t happen, so let’s dive in. I’m Jaime Rivera with Pocketnow and let’s dive into our Apple Spring Loaded Event recap..

So let me start with the things we didn’t get.

  • No AirPods, which have been heavily rumored for this event. Seems Ming-Chi Kuo’s predictions were right in that production won’t begin until the fall.
  • No iPad mini update, which at this point seems either dead or maybe some silent update that’ll come later. We’re gonna talk more about iPad soon, and why I’m so disappointed.

As for what we did get, historically this was once a Services event, and we got some of that. Apple Card now supports families, so spouses can share credit together, and you can even share your card with children 14 and older with spending limits. I guess Apple has never met my kids.

Apple Podcasts

Now, something I’m a bit disappointed about is Apple Podcasts, but I might just have to wait for it to launch. Right now all we heard was a new design, with recommended content to explore, ways to subscribe and get early access to content, and support for 170 regions. What we didn’t hear was support for video, which I’m hoping I miraculously missed or something. If Apple wants to bank on how popular video has become to this medium and how Spotify is leveraging this, they need to act fast.

purple iphone 12

Purple iPhone 12

Also, in a very non-Apple fashion, we get a new color for the iPhone 12 being released mid-term. This isn’t new though, we saw it with the white iPhone 4, and with the Product Red editions of iPhone, but a product purple is interesting. By the way, the original code name of the iPhone project was Purple, so it’s funny that we had to wait 13 years to actually get one. Yes, it’s for both the regular 12 and the mini, with pre-orders starting Friday and available on April 30th.

AirTags

AirTags

Now, a big deal was made about how Apple’s Find My feature is taking a step further with AirTags. Guys this is not your typical Bluetooth Tracker. If you have an iPhone with a U1 chip, Apple offers something called Precision Finding, which provides visual, audible, and haptic feedback of where your product is, and not just sounds or a half-baked map view. There are added privacy measures to void unwanted detection, and there will be a ton of accessories that help you clamp them to whatever you want. Pre-orders start Friday, and they’re available on April 30th. They start at $30 bucks, but you can get 4 for $100.

Apple TV 4K Siri Remote

Apple TV 4K

A product I thought was going to die into TV apps was the company’s Apple TV, but nope, the 4K variant is getting some much-needed updates. A12 Bionic chip that can now play HDR content at a high refresh rate, meaning if you filmed anything in Dolby Vision on your iPhone 12 Pro, you’ll finally be able to watch it streamed through AirPlay. To ensure color accuracy, there’s now even a Color Balance feature that helps you use your iPhone to calibrate the signal the Apple TV will send to your television. Maybe what took too long to see is this new Siri Remote.

The previous one was terrible. Now, in iPod fashion, you have a click pad that’s touch-enabled and allows circular gestures for job control. There is now a Power and a Mute button for you to control your TV, and the Siri button is now out of the way, as it should be. That starts at $179 for 32 gigs of storage, with more capacity for a couple of extra bucks, with pre-orders beginning April 30th. But then from now on, you’re gonna be hearing a lot of – available in the second half of May, which is not like Apple. Odd we’re not getting confirmed dates.

Apple iMac 2021

24-inch iMac M1

But alright, as for the two cool kids in the room, let’s talk about the first, the M1 iMac. This portion of the event started well with those Spectrum colors paying an homage to the original iMac. That whole slim body we’ve dreamed of is here. I mean it was all going well, but those white bezels, like, who can get immersed in content with that? Anyways, it’s powered by the M1 chip, and this is what allows such a slim profile.

There are two fans that don’t make more than 10 decibels of noise at the bottom, with a logic board that’s tiny when compared to the past. This is now a 24-inch 4.5K retina display that supports the P3 color gamut, 500 nits of brightness, True Tone, a reflective coating, you get the picture. I’m honestly more excited for the 1080p camera with computational video and a 3 mic array that allows beamforming so that the rest of the room doesn’t bother your calls. There’s also spatial audio thanks to a crazy set of speakers at the bottom, there’s a magnetic fabric cable behind that has an ethernet port on the power adapter. Like seriously pretty cool.

There’s even a new set of Mac Keyboard accessories with two supporting Touch ID, a new Magic trackpad, and Magic Mouse with new colors to match, though we’re still not sure if they still charge awkwardly through lightning. Even better, this would be the first M1 product with more than one USB C port. There’s actually 4 with two supporting Thunderbolt, though obviously in the worse placement ever at the back.

Cause it wouldn’t be an iMac if that wasn’t weird, but there are a couple of catches you should know. First, the Price starts at $1299, but then color options are limited, you don’t get the ethernet adapter on the power brick, and you lose the two extra USB C ports, and touch ID on the magic keyboard unless you buy separately. To get all the bells and whistles, you have to pick the $1499 or $1699 models. Orders also start on April 30th, with availability in the second half of May. I think even that base model is enough for anyone looking for a powerful creative beast since we’ve proven the M1 has exceeded expectations on Apple’s laptops.

2021 iPad PRo

iPad Pro

Honestly, I think my biggest problem is with the second product. So to provide some context, ever since the first-generation iPad, we’ve dreamed about Apple making a tablet. Steve Jobs famously made fun of it. But at the time, the dream included OS X. The last thing we wanted was an iPod Touch with a larger canvas, and this is why it was so highly criticized. The only reason it took off was that it was priced way below what people predicted. And listen, I get it, the iPad wasn’t ideal, but its A4 chip laid the foundation that created the M1 chip that now has every chip maker and their mother fighting to catch up to. So of course, you start an event with an M1 chip on an iPad Pro, at the time when macOS Big Sur already runs on it, and I was literally standing on my chair just ecstatic.

Sadly, no, you have all the power of a MacBook Pro on an iPad Pro, that continues to be neutered by an Operating System that’s designed mostly for phones, oh and by the way, with the phone handling widgets better. So yes, we now have 5G support, the Pro cameras have this crazy motion tracking feature that lets you apply chroma effects in real-time, there’s an ultra-wide Face ID camera that can track you for wider Face Time calls.

Guys, we even get Thunderbolt support over USB-C, and yes, crazy improvements in performance when compared to the previous model. The problem is that if you know anything about iPads, that won’t mean much about how apps will run, so then what’s the point? Also, my second problem is that the whole mini LED display with Pro Display XDR claims is only available on the larger model, which is priced so high that at that point, just buy a MacBook Air and save some money.

Apple April event

Prediction

But alright, I’m gonna calm down, because I have a little theory when it comes to all this underutilized potential. Either this is the most powerful creative tool that continues to be neutered by its operating system, or Apple has something else up its sleeve. Like, maybe not macOS, but if a Mac can run iPad Apps, what if this the way to get Mac Apps to run on an iPad, and then you choose what form factor you want?

Like, what if this is finally the way to get Final Cut Pro running on an iPad? Cause, unless this happens at Apple’s next event in June, I hate to say this, but you’re fine with an iPad Air or a MacBook Air. There is simply no purpose for this product other than bragging rights of performance you won’t be able to achieve. There’s no such thing as iPad apps that can only run on the Pro models unless you consider Lidar limitations which people barely care about.

Apple Spring 2021 iPad event: here’s what to expect

Apple is hosting its Spring event, which is just two days away from now. The company will be going live with its “Spring Loaded” event at 10 AM PDT on April 20. While iPad Pro is one of the most likely announcements, the brand could announce a wide range of products. Apple could unveil its next iMax, AirPods Pro, AirTags, and more! Here’s what you can expect from the Apple Spring Loaded 2021 event.

New iPad Pro

ipad air pocketnow

Apple is likely to launch two iPad Pro models – 11-inch and 12.9-inch. As per the leaks and rumors, you shouldn’t expect a design overhaul. The company might shave off a couple of millimeters, but that’s about it.

The Cupertino giant is rumored to be working on its new mini-LED display-equipped iPad Pro. While the device is expected to come in two sizes, the 11-inch variant might stick with an LCD display, and you are likely to get a mini-LED panel on the bigger model.

What is a mini-LED display?

A mini-LED display is essentially an LCD panel trying to be an OLED panel. A large number of Mini LEDs – where each diode measures 0.2mm or less – are used to light up the LCD panel. A mini-LED panel tries to emulate the good traits of an OLED panel but at a lower price tag. Therefore, you get deeper blacks, higher brightness, and improved contrast.

Further, the next iPad Pro is expected to bring a new more powerful processor that is said to be similar to the M1 Silicon introduced last year on the MacBook Pro 13, MacBook Air, and the Mac mini. If this comes true, you are looking at the most powerful tablets in the world. It is tipped that the chip is the A14X SoC, a variant of the A14 Bionic chip. Furthermore, this is speculated to allow Mac interoperability, which means you’d be able to run some macOS apps on the iPadOS.

A Thunderbolt port

As for connectivity, the upcoming iPad Pro could have 5G as well as a Thunderbolt port, which does everything a USB-C port can do, but a LOT faster. Your file transfer, charging and everything will be speedier. Moreover, it is made for driving high-resolution models and transferring heavy video signals. The 12.9-inch variant is most likely to come equipped with 5G antennas, and there is a possibility for this technology to extend to the smaller 11-inch model.

AirPods Pro 2

AirPods Pro 2

If rumors are to be believed, Apple is working on the next-gen AirPods Pro and could introduce it at its Spring Loaded event. The company is touted to make its earbuds more compact by eliminating the short stem that currently sticks out from the bottom. The AirPods Pro 2 is said to come with a more rounded shape to fill more of a user’s ear.

The upcoming earbuds could have the same 21mm thickness, while the height and length are said to be 46mm and 54mm, respectively. This means it could ensure a better in-ear fit and reduce the risk of the earbuds falling off from the ears.

However, according to previous reports, integrating noise-cancellation, wireless antennas, and microphones into a smaller AirPods Pro casing has proved challenging in the testing phase. As per another report, Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 could arrive in two sizes.

The upcoming earbuds are speculated to incorporate the in-house Apple W2 chip – the successor to the W1 chip, which can be found inside the standard AirPods and a few Beats headphones such as the Beats Solo 3 Wireless and the Beats PowerBeats 3 Wireless.

Seamless pairing, better battery life

The W2 chip could enable a seamless pairing experience on the AirPods Pro 2. Plus, it might use a lesser battery for the same amount of tasks as the predecessor. It is still unclear what improvements the W2 chip inside the AirPods Pro 2 will bring to the table. Moreover, the AirPods Pro 2 is likely to cost the same as their predecessors ($249 / £249).

AirTags

AirTags 3D render Jon Proser CCConceptCreator

Apple’s object tracker, AirTags is said to have been in development for quite some time now. It could finally see the light at the Spring Loaded event on April 20. The AirTags will reportedly be disc-shaped with an Apple logo at the center on one side.

According to the leaked images, the AirTags will have a round profile with a white paint job on one side, and a metallic finish on the other side with an Apple logo.

How will AirTags work?

AirTags will use Bluetooth connectivity and an Apple chip inside to quickly pair with your iPhone or other compatible devices. You will be able to use it for checking the location information and track the devices they are attached to – which can be anything from a pet to a school bag.

It is rumored that AirTags will be accessible from the “Items” tab in the Find My app. This will be the destination where all your Apple devices and those tethered to the AirTags will appear. Once you get a notification that an item with an AirTag has been lost, you can cause it to play a loud chime so that you can locate it.

The AirTags will also reportedly come equipped with Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology for spatial awareness that will make them more accurate compared to regular Bluetooth-based trackers. Apple might also employ its ARKIt on the upcoming object tracker.

iMac and Mac Pro with Apple Silicon

Mac Pro

Apple is already tipped to be working on the new iMac and Mac Pro. Like the latest Macs, the upcoming devices will be powered by Apple’s in-house silicon. However, it is unclear if these will be based on M1 chip or Apple will announce another SoC.

As per a report, Apple is planning to launch two new iMacs. These will replace the existing Intel-powered 21.5-inch and 27-inch models. According to noted analyst Mark Gurman, Apple’s all-in-one computers will lose the thick bezels in favor of a cleaner design similar to the Pro Display XDR monitor. Moreover, the curved back is tipped to be tweaked to make it flat.

“The iMac redesign will be one of the biggest visual updates to any Apple product this year, according to people familiar with the company’s roadmap,” the report added.

The company is also looking to update its Mac Pro line of computers. One of the upcoming Mac Pro updates will continue to use the same design as the 2019 model. However, there could also be a second Mac Pro that will reportedly be half the size of the latest-gen Mac Pro.

“The design will feature a mostly aluminum exterior and could invoke nostalgia for the Power Mac G4 Cube, a short-lived smaller version of the Power Mac, an earlier iteration of the Mac Pro,” wrote Gurman.

A new MacBook Pro? Nah

While many are speculating that Apple will launch a new MacBook Pro, we say otherwise. According to a recent report, Kuo predicted that Apple’s two new MacBook Pro models will debut in the second half of 2021. This MacBook Pro could face a design overhaul and include an SD card slot. For the unaware, the SD card slot was part of the I/O on the pre-2016-era MacBook Pro.

Apple is reportedly working on refreshing both 14-inch and 16-inch variants of its MacBook Pro. The upcoming MacBook Pros are tipped to feature brighter, higher-contrast panels. Moreover, these could mark the return of MagSafe on laptops. The company is said to be bringing back its magnetic power adapter. It will allow the laptops to charge at a faster rate.

What would you like to see?

Did we miss something? Do you think Apple will launch more products other than the ones mentioned here? Let us know in the comments below!

We could see new colorful iMacs on the next Apple Spring Loaded Event

We are just a few days away from the next Apple Event. Cupertino sent out official invites last Tuesday, April 13, telling the world that its “Spring Loaded” event will take place on April 20. There is no official confirmation of what we may get to see during said event, but a well-known leaker has just revealed that an iMac refresh may be part of the show.

According to L0vetodream, the new “Spring Loaded” Apple Event will give us a newly redesigned iMac with several color options, or at least that’s what we’re led to believe. He posted a recent tweet containing the logo of the upcoming event, with a photo of the colorful G3 iMac lineup. In other words, this information would confirm previous rumors provided by another well-known source, Jon Prosser. He reported that the upcoming iMacs would arrive with several color options to choose from, taking inspiration from the G3 iMac lineup, well, at least as far as colors go.

Buy iMac

Previous rumors also claim that the new iMac lineup will have the first significant redesign since 2012, which would make it look more like the Pro Display XDR. This means that we could also get narrower side bezels and no chin, translating to larger displays than the current 21.5-inch and 27-inch models.

2021 iMac colors

Now, we have another reason to believe that we may soon get an iMac refresh. It seems that the 21.5-inch standard model on both its 4K and non-4K options are starting to grow scarce on Apple Stores across the United States. These items are being listed as unavailable for pickup, with customers having to wait around a week for them to go out. More powerful configurations are even harder to come across.

We know that Apple already discontinued two configurations of its 21.5-inch iMac, meaning that we could soon see them getting a refresh. The best part is that these new PCs are also rumored to arrive with a new Apple silicon chip, so you may want to wait a bit more if you have plans of getting a new iMac for yourself.

iPhone 11 lineup gets a trade-in value boost

It's only fair to share...Share on RedditShare on FacebookShare on Google+Tweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Tumblr

Apple has adjusted the trade-in values of several of its products including the iPhones, MacBook Air, iPad Pro, and more. The trade-in value change comes after updated prices in December. Moreover, Apple has not only decreased some values but is offering more if you exchange an iPhone 11 series device. Notably, the values shown on Apple’s website reflect the maximum possible trade-in value for a product. This means you are not guaranteed to get this much while exchanging your old device but you can get up to the said amount.

Starting with the iPhone 11, the device has received a $20 value bump. You can now receive a maximum of $380 on exchanging your old iPhone 11. Further, the trade-in value for the iPhone 11 Pro is up by $5 to $465, and the Pro Max can get you up to $515, which is $15 more than before. Moreover, the old iPhone 6s Plus can now get you $65 as compared to $60.

Apart from the iPhones, Apple has also updated its trade-in value for the iPad lineup. The iPad Pro will now get you $580, which is $45 more than before. By contrast, the trade-in value for the standard iPad has gone down by $15 to $235. The MacBook Air has also received a value revision. You will now get $70 less than before for your MacBook Air, which is down to $530 from $600. As for the discontinued MacBook, it can give you up to $340, which is $40 less than before.

More Mac family members have received a trade-in value revision. The iMac has received a value reduction of $130, which brings it down to $1,050. On the other hand, the Mac mini is down by $60 to $770.

For the unaware, Apple allows customers to trade-in older devices, and receive a certain amount of value for them. This can be used towards a purchase of a new device. The company measures the exact trade-in value of a device by its condition, manufacturer, and when it was released.

Apple’s iMac Pro will be discontinued after selling its remaining stock

The current iMac Pro was launched back in 2017, so we can say that it’s more than ready to get a refresh. Several rumors suggest that Apple is getting ready to launch more Macs with Apple Silicon. It seems that we may get a new iMac Pro shortly, as the current model is now being discontinued over at Apple’s online store.

This may be one of your last chances to get a new iMac Pro. Apple has confirmed that it’s discontinuing this powerful desktop, and since yesterday, it removed all build-to-order configurations, leaving only one option for those interested.

iMac Pro While Supplies Last Screenshot from Apple Online Store

You can get your 2017 iMac Pro for $4,999 while supplies last. This will get you a 27-inch iMac Pro with Retina 5K display, 32GB RAM, and 1TB storage space, powered by a 3.0GHz Intel Xeon processor. If you purchase your PC from Apple, you get the chance of paying $416.58/mo for 12 months. However, if you’re looking for a regular iMac, you can find more configuration options and some rather interesting savings when you head over to Amazon, Best Buy of B&H. For example, you can grab a 21.5-inch iMac with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD for $1349 after a $150 discount.

It is rumored that the new iMacs could come with a new Apple M1X chip, or the next step in Apple chips after the arrival of the M1 processor in the 13-inch MacBook Pro, the Mac Air, and the latest Mac mini. There’s no clue as to when these devices may hit the shelves, but it’s said that Cupertino may be planning on launching a redesigned iMac with thin bezels and a boxy design by the time of WWDC which would suggest a summer launch. However, Apple’s recent decision to discontinue the iMac Pro can easily make us believe that it is getting ready to launch soon.

Apple’s new iMacs, Chromebooks and more devices are also on sale

We have just come across several deals that may interest anyone looking for a new PC or laptop. First, you can get a new iMac with up to $150 discounts, depending on the display size and the specs you choose. The 21.5-inch that comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage and an Intel Core i5 processor can be yours for $1,349 with $150 savings. However, you can get the same storage and RAM with an Intel Core i3 processor for $1,210, thanks to an $89 discount.

The 27-inch version is also getting a $150 discount if you get the version that comes with 8GB RAM, 512GB storage, and a 3.3GHz Intel Core i5 processor, which means you can get one for $1,849. You can also get one for $1,675 if you can survive with half the storage space and a 3.1GHz Intel Core i5 processor, which will also get you $124 savings. And since you may want to place your new iMac or whatever display to optimal viewing height, you may want to get a new Twelve South HiRise Pro for iMac that’s currently getting a $61 discount, leaving it at just $108.50. while you’re at it, you may also want to consider getting a new Kensington Docking Station or a RAVPower 65W 4-Port Desktop USB Charging Station that are now selling for $160 and $43 with $40 and $17 savings, respectively.

Now, there’s no need to get a powerful PC. You can also get a new Chromebook for a fraction of the price of a Mac. For example, you can get a new Dell Chromebook 11 3000 with an 11.6-inch display, a Celeron N4020 processor, 4GB RAM, and 16GB flash memory for $215 with $135 savings. The HP Chromebook 14-inch HD Laptop is getting a $49 discount, which means you can get yours for $212, and it comes with 4GB RAM, 32GB storage space, and an Intel Celeron N400 processor. And if you want to spend a bit more, you can get the Acer Chromebook Spin 311 Convertible Laptop that’s now selling for $270 after a huge $229 discount.

What’s your flavor? Apple reportedly bringing color options to the 2021 iMac

Safe to assume that on a slow February Wednesday, there’s nothing really going on that rocks the boat in tech world. Nothing, however, compares to a fresh, juicy Apple leak (in case you needed more of those) coming from none other than Jon Prosser via Twitter and YouTube.

As you’ve probably guessed by now, from the title and the thumbnail, the rumor talks about Apple allegedly offering future customers the option to choose a color option for their upcoming iMac desktop computers.

Five are illustrated in the image, with the classic silver and the darker shade (reserved for the exclusive iMac Pro), in addition to green, blue, and pink (with whatever denomination Apple could come up with to describe the shades). These shades will reportedly mirror the colors the iPad Air is currently available in.

Rumors of a redesign coming to the iMac have been around for quite some time, but if Apple couples the redesign (and the addition of the M1 chip version) with an expanded range of color options to choose from, it will give users the liberty to get the one that best suits their personality, or environment. It’s like 1998 again! You know, when there was actually a color choice involved.

Not only that, but there’s chatter about a possible, smaller Mac Pro. No, not a smaller cheese grater, this upcoming model is being described more along the lines of “three-to-four Mac minis stacked”. This should give you an idea about the size, but the actual design, though some have attempted to predict it, is yet unknown.
