Asus ZenFone 3 Max is up for grabs now with US warranty, huge battery, fingerprint sensor

Just in time for Black Friday, Asus has officially brought its third ZenFone 3 variant stateside. This is not a “deluxe” phone, nor does it feature a rear-facing camera with a fancy laser auto-focus, let alone augmented reality capabilities.

But the Asus ZenFone 3 Max is unusually cheap… for a 5.2-inch Android handheld that packs such a large battery it can even work as a portable power bank charging your other digital devices while you’re away from a traditional electrical socket.

Amazingly, the $149 Marshmallow gadget sold on Amazon with a US warranty and 4G LTE connectivity for GSM networks including AT&T and T-Mobile merely measures 8.6mm thick, also tipping the scales at 148 grams, despite carrying around a 4,130, yes, 4,130 mAh cell.

The 5.2-inch IPS LCD screen sports 1,280 x 720 pixels resolution, which sounds modest, but when you think about it, actually helps squeeze the most out of that already impressive juicer. The same goes for the mediocre-sounding quad-core MediaTek MT6737M processor, with 2GB RAM, as well as 13 and 5MP cams also in tow.

A rear-positioned fingerprint reader not only beefs up security, allowing you to activate the camera with a swipe, and the “glacier silver” low-cost Android soldier claims a pretty remarkable 75 percent screen-to-body ratio to seal the $149 pre-Black Friday deal. No further discounts incoming, we presume.
