Google adds three more phones to the Project Fi lineup

Google’s US-only carrier, Project Fi, has added three new phones to its arsenal to give users (current and prospective) some more options. You’ll now be able to pre-order the Moto G6, LG V35 ThinQ and LG G7 ThinQ directly through Google’s online Fi portal.

Formerly limited to Google-made phones due to their unique cellular radios which utilize both CDMA (Sprint) and GSM (T-Mobile and US Cellular), Project Fi has grown considerably in the past year to include third-party options.

The current offering now includes the aforementioned additions, building on the lineup of the Moto X4, Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL. If you own a Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P or one of the original Google Pixel phones, those will work on the carrier as well.

Moto’s G6 and X4 are the cheapest options for Fi customers by a long shot, coming in at $199 and $249, respectively. If you want to opt for something more premium, your best bet is an outdated Google phone or the new Google Pixel 2, which starts at $649. LG’s options sit at the top of the offerings in terms of price and spec, with the G7 ThinQ at $749 and the V35 ThinQ at a staggering $899.

While only available in the US, Fi is an awesome pay-per-GB service that offers robust international coverage without charging an extra fee. It’s great to see this service growing, but we still wonder when Google will let international customers into the mix

Moto G6 now available at Amazon Prime-exclusive price

Motorola's latest budget champion, the Moto G6, has finally launched. And there's good news for Prime subscribers. It's now available as an Amazon Prime Exclusive phone. That means that this already impressive budget phone just got even more affordable.

Motorola's Moto G line has long been known for its solid budget offering. It paired decent internals, some higher end features, and a design that has continued to veer toward premium with each passing year. The Moto G6 continues in the tradition with amazing success.

The new Moto G6 features the most premium design yet seen in an affordably phone with 3D glass, an aluminum frame, a dual-sensor camera on the back, and a thin fingerprint scanner on the front. The centerpiece of the new smartphone is its leap into high screen-to-body ratio territory with a 5.7-inch Full HD+ display that offers a lot of screen space without making the phone unwieldy.

From the outside, the Moto G6 looks like other premium smartphones. The camera may not be as capable, and the processor and internal storage won't be as fast or capacious. But, at the price, it speeds through tasks well enough on Android 8.0 Oreo, and microSD support means storage space is easy to upgrade.

The Moto G6 is available here for $234.99 and supports AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, and in the US, Google's Project Fi.

Lenovo Z5 teaser shows a P20 Pro-like gradient glass back

The release date of the much-talked about Lenovo Z5 was officially unveiled last week on Weibo. It was neither the first time nor the last time when the Lenovo Group VP, Chang Cheng went vocal about the phone as the latest information comes in form of a glimpse of the back of the Lenovo Z5.

Latest teaser makes it pretty clear that the phone will boast of a Huawei P20 Pro like gradient glass back. As it looks very identical to the Aurora or the Twilight colour variant of the Huawei phone. This also confirms that the phone would sport a dual-sided glass design with metal a metal frame on the sides.

Prior to this, Chang Cheng had shared some really interesting highlights of the device. As per his posts, the phone will have a whopping 95% of screen to body ratio, with a humongous 45 day long standby time and lastly the 4TB storage space on the phone.

Source- Weibo

With so much on the cards, it's fair to keep high expectations from Lenovo’s upcoming flagship. Especially, about the design and the implausible 4TB of storage.

Furthermore, the invitation letter shared by Lenovo suggests that the Z5 will represent the legacy of the ZUK-series of phones from Lenovo. ZUK is Lenovo’s sub-brand that entered India in 2015 with the ZUK Z1, followed by the Z2 without the ZUK branding. However in China, the company released total of four handsets— Z1, Z2 Pro, Z2 and Edge.

However, the teaser image sports Lenovo branding at the bottom, but there’s no sign of the ZUK. So we can’t really assure that the it’s a ZUK Z5 or just the Z5. Let’s wait till June 5th and see if it really justifies the hype built around it.
