Over the weekend the Lumia Black update started hitting unlocked Lumia 1020 devices across the world; the update was first pushed out to American variants of the phone, after its introduction on the Lumia 1520 phablet, with which it shipped out of the box. At the beginning of the month, both Microsoft and AT&T have started taking pre-orders for the Lumia 1520. The price was $199 with a two-year contract (and additional goodies thrown in by Microsoft and the carrier) but it appears that AT&T has dropped another $100 from its price. Remember we told you yesterday that the Nokia Lumia 1520 for AT&T can be pre-ordered from the Microsoft Store? Well, forget it! According to a recent report, the page went live prematurely and Microsoft has since yanked it; it lived about 12 hours. Windows Phone 8 GDR3 reportedly allows phones to recharge while turned off

You can charge your Android device while having it turned off but Windows Phones, pretty much like iPhones, will boot up immediately when plugged in for a charge while being turned off. The HTC 8X, both the global and the AT&T carrier flavor, has started receiving its GDR3 update, and apparently the refresh solves this issue (feature?). Despite the leaked render of the Verizon Nokia Lumia 929 from the beginning of October, the phone was nowhere to be seen at last week’s Nokia World in Abu Dhabi.
