Samsung Galaxy NX Android-powered camera pricing revealed; start saving now

It’s been about two months since Samsung first announced the Galaxy NX, its spiritual successor to last year’s Galaxy Camera. While the Galaxy Camera was an Android-powered point-and-shoot that lacked the sort of imaging performance that we’d need to really get excited about such a device, the Galaxy NX really showed Samsung stepping up its game in a number of areas. The NX uses interchangeable lenses, for one, giving photographers much more control over their shots, and upgrades to a big APS-C 20.3-megapixel image ...

HTC Zara getting a little brother? Zara Mini makes an appearance

Rumors about the HTC Zara extend back a little over a month by this point. The solidly mid-range Android has subsequently seen its specs leak, as well as a possible render. Revealed through official TENAA filings, the so-called Zara Mini definitely looks like a downgrade from the bigger Zara, losing its stereo BoomSound ...

International budget Moto X could have replaceable backplates

The Moto X as we have it now may very much be a US smartphone, but Motorola’s been clear that this isn’t the entirety of the Moto X story. The company has talked about releasing additional handsets under the Moto X name, specifically with the intention of introducing a lower-cost alternative. We’ve been wondering just how this handset might differ from the Moto X of the moment, and while many questions remain, one rumor suggests that at least one way this new budget Moto X could hope to differentiate itself is by having ...

Samsung moving towards metal bodies for future flagships?

If Samsung’s word is to be taken at face value, the company has little interest in metal phones. We’ve heard it talk about its decision to stick with plastic bodies even for premium models like the Galaxy S 4, viewing a move to metal as one that would slow manufacturing time and increase expenses. That said, the company can’t seem to escape rumors that it’s about to change its tune and finally embrace metal designs. We’ve

Blue HTC One coming to Sprint on September 10, claims report

We’ve heard a lot about the blue HTC One; some like it, some don’t, and, more recently, we’ve also seen images of the actual hue in which the Taiwanese flagship will be available. However, despite some reports placing it on Verizon’s roadmap, today’s leak seems to be certain of another carrier, with a date attached. The image above is purportedly depicting Sprint’s plans for the near future, and, as you can see, the blue HTC One is listed right there. The date says September 10, 2013, which is less than two weeks away, and, according to the consensus on ...

TLDR: The next thing I want in an e-Reader is a rear display

I was given this assignment at the beginning of the week by my colleague Michael Fisher. And I was excited about it.  I totally get it. That would be awesome! My mind instantly started thinking of the possibilities. I thought of the YotaPhone. I thought of low power consumption. I thought of Netflix. All in one device! This is a killer idea. One device to rule them all Imagine hefting your Kindle Fire and firing up Netflix. You watch another episode of House of Cards. Kevin Spacey is killing it. Suddenly you get a ...

Google’s Android VP Hugo Barra leaves for Xiaomi

If you’re a Google Android enthusiast, watching keynotes and events, you definitely know Hugo Barra. He is (actually, was) Google’s vice president of product management for Android, the person who recently introduced the 2013 Nexus 7. Apparently, Hugo Barra is leaving Google for Chinese phone maker, Xiaomi, according to several reports on the interwebs.
